This Privacy Policy has been drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Law No. 12 of 2016 amending Federal Law No.5 of 2012 on Combating Cybercrimes. Hayi is the private social network specifically for the United Arab Emirates.

 

We use “Hayi” here to refer to the Hayi websites and our iOS and Android apps that provide you with access to that platform. We also use “Hayi”, “we”, “us” and “our” to refer to the companies operating our Services.

 

Collection of Information 

• IP address of the device you used to access the App, as well as your visit time and date. 

• Your geographical location when browsing the App. 

• When creating your account with Hayi we store the email address you provide us with, as well as your selected neighbourhood and sub-community.

• Device data which tells us about the device you’re using: what type and model it is, its operating system and version, its unique identifier, crash data (if applicable), and what settings you’ve enabled. Your device and software settings affect what information your device makes available to us.

• Log data which is automatically recorded by our servers based on data sent by your app or browser. This includes the date and time you visited, the browser or app version you used (and its settings), the URLs you came from and go to, your IP address and protocol, and how you used Hayi.

• Cookie data which comes from “cookies” (small data files stored on your computer or mobile device). Cookie data helps us recognise you, remember your preferences, and learn more about you; some, but not all, cookie data is associated with your Hayi account. You can configure your browser to reject cookies, but doing so will prevent you from logging into our website.

We use this information for things like keeping your account secure as well as showing us what features you use most to help us optimize the platform for user satisfaction. 

 

The above information is collected for the improvement of the App performance. Such information is not disclosed at all to any other party unless required by law or for the protection of the rights and use of Hayi.

 

Your personal information will only be made available to Hayi employees who need to have access to it. This information will not be made publicly available without your consent. Similarly, no such information will be exchanged, sold, or traded with any third party without your prior consent, and access to that information will only be permitted to qualified individuals and specialists who provide the Hayi services related to your interactions with our Website.

 

If you change your place of residence, your information will be dealt with as specified above, according to your new residence from the date on which your place of residence changes. However the App use is limited to within the geographical boarders of the United Arab Emirates. 

 

If you decide to invite new users within the region to join Hayi, you can choose to share their residential or email address with us, or share your contacts with us, so we can send an invitation and follow-up reminders on your behalf.

For residential users, we verify that you live at the address you gave us.

We use information to operate Hayi and to improve our products and features:

• To help you publish Content and view and respond to content from other members, based on your posting selections.

• To highlight popular neighbourhood topics or resources on a neighbourhood’s public home page or an organisation’s public page.

• To select top posts in an area and to deliver and tailor your newsfeed.

• To help support businesses recommended by Hayi members.

• To understand the aggregate and anonymised trends, usage statistics, and demographic data of the members and neighbourhoods we serve.

• To respond to your support requests and comments.

• To test and evaluate potential new products and features on Hayi.

• To diagnose and resolve problems, analyse trends, and monitor aggregate usage and resource needs.

• For our own marketing activities, such as carrying out analysis to create statistics on and insights into the use of our Services. 

 

If you want to support a local business, you can choose to share information about it, in the form of a recommendation or by creating a business page.  

 

If you want to allow us to show you where you are on the map, tag your posts, photos and events by location, or verify your address, you can enable sharing this in your settings.

 

If you contact support, you are providing us with your contact information and a description of the issue so we can respond.

 

If you take part in surveys or other general research we undertake, you may provide information in response.

We use this information that we have to verify accounts and activity, combat harmful conduct, detect and prevent spam and other bad experiences, maintain the integrity of Hayi services and promote safety and security on and off Hayi. We may for example use data that we have collected to investigate suspicious activity or breaches of our Terms and conditions and other policies. 

 

On Hayi, people can see indicators informing them whether you are active on Hayi, including when you last visited the services.

 

If the ownership or control or their assets changes, we may transfer your information to the new owner.

 

We access, preserve and share your information with the regulators, law enforcements or others in response to a legal request, if we have good faith that the law requires us to do so, or that it is necessary to detect, prevent and address fraud, unauthorised use of Hayi, or breach of our services or harmful or illegal activities to protect you, others and ourselves, to prevent death or imminent bodily harm. 

 

We will notify you before we make changes to this policy and give you the opportunity to review the revised Policy before you choose to continue the use of Hayi.
